Food and Diet News and Weight Loss Plans
I somehow landed on the Big Kahunas website this week and saw that
Oprah is doing a new diet called the 21 day cleanse.
The thing is we all know none of these diets are new.
I for one wonder what happened to the Fit for Life
couple you know Harvey and Marilyn Diamond?.
That was some yummy food. I still use the split pea soup recipe
and they had some yummy avocado snacking things
I forgot about. Some haters called them a cult, but I just liked the food.
( I did not actually do the diet, I just used the recipes I liked!)
Anyway I looked them up and they both married other people
and she is all into some new raw food thing and wow she has aged well.

Her new man ain’t too bad either.
Let’s face it when you have money, life is easier in many ways.
Sorry I digress…
You gotta love the big O. She has struggled with her weight forever!
I think she looks better now then she ever has and how old is she now, 54?
My gosh 50 really is the new 40.
So this 21 day cleanse thing sounds like this old book
I found in a thrift store many moons ago, from like
1960. Nothing is new…
My mom was totally into raw food and soy and wheatberry bread, back in the early 70’s.
No one would trade lunches with me and hey who can blame them, a raw honey and peanut butter
sandwich on the heaviest grossest wheat berry bread, with carob and sesame candy for my treat.
That was some gross stuff.
How I longed for a normal wonderbread sandwich with Welches grape jelly.
Luckily for the family, my Moms attentions was diverted
by Amway or Avon or something and she stopped
force feeding us that junk! ( it was few years though)
Hey Moms- don’t force your kids to follow your fads.
Moderation in all things is really the best method.
If you want to hear Oprah talk about her 21 day cleanse, she is blogging about it here.
I wish I had a chef to cook it all for me, then maybe it would be fun and taste good too.

How fierce is the Oprah looking in this photo?
You go girlfriend, I love you!
One way to feel inspired or depressed is to look at some celebrity success stories with weight.
Of course there are a few failures too… it wouldn’t be any fun if we didn’t include those…
Success-
Valerie Bertinelli:Lost 40 Pounds using the Jenny Craig Program
Love her to death. Queen of the lifetime damsel in distress movies and really a total B-list Goddess.
She is great. She stuck with hubby Eddie Van Halen through thick and and thin, ( they did divorce eventually) and now in her new book, she says she ain’t no saint either….
Valerie- don’t tell me that!

I never watched this show when it was on HBO.
I don’t have HBO. There is so much bad TV, I felt guilty watching more.
Of course with the writers strike and the utter glut of reality TV now,
I started watching Sex and the City in reruns.
I like it better with the swearing and raunchy parts deleted.
I can never decide if SJP is beautiful or just makes us think she is.
One thing I admire about her is the way she hasn’t changed herself and certainly should be an
inspiration to odd looking girls everywhere that attitude can take you very very far.
This blog is all about revealing that celebs are human too!
We all have flesh and it all droops and hangs eventually.
The gals of Sex and the City.

See even someone as skinny as her has a bad angle.
She is getting old like
the rest of us.
Growing old with style is
Kim Cattrall- You go girl!

The online blogs made a big deal when these photos came out,
but I think she looks great for a women in her 50’s!
